Compare And Contrast Snow White And Grimm Brothers

The story of Snow White is classic and there is an abundance of people who believe how the original tale goes. However, it is highly doubtful that people actually do. The first tale of snow white titled The Little Snow White by the Grimm Brothers is much more macabre in nature compared to the light hearted and kid-like retelling Snow White written by Roberto Piumini and illustrated by Anna Laura Cantone. This essay will hopefully show how warped stories can become over time.
In the morbid original story of Snow White the Grimm Brothers show the least well known version of a fairytale. It all starts out with Snow’s birth mother pricking her finger while sewing in the winter in front of an ebony mirror. She thought the sight of the blood lying on the snow was breathtaking and knew right away that she wanted her daughter to have the characteristics of all of these. Some obvious things are how the apples are different in appearance and how in the original tale the witch makes three attempts instead of just one. Similarities are how Snow’s father is dead in both versions, how the queen wants to kill both Snow’s and hires a huntsman to do it, and how both Snow’s meet a prince and live happily ever after while the queen pays for what sins have been heinously committed.
Over generations, stories will change and the only ones people go off of are the tales that were written down. Nobody knows if the tale that is widely read was well known or not, but citizens still study it in an attempt to see how people thought back then.No one will ever get a good idea of how it actually was but people can get close.
