very bottom were the peasants. The peasants got tired of the harsh treatment they received in the Qin dynasty from the emperor, so out of rebellion they formed the Han dynasty.
The Han Dynasty was founded by Liu Bang in 202 B.C. Due to the increasing population in the Han dynasty, the emperor divided the land into 12 provinces to be ran by government officials. Although the emperor was in charge and created laws which had to be abided by, the Han dynasty had a much more lose government than the Qin Dynasty. The Han dynasty was responsible for many contributions to the Chinese society. Waterwheels, steel and paper were invented and this dynasty contributed the Silk Road to Chinese culture which opened China to trade and commerce, thus importing and deporting more goods. By 220 A.D., China plunged into the civil war, eventually causing the empire to collapse in government.
