Maroubra, which is located 10 kilometers south – east of the Central Business District, is a beach suburb while Kogarah is a residential one and located 14 kilometers south of the Central Business District. There are some similarities and a few differences in the people aspect. The population in Maroubra is larger than in Kogarah. Maroubra has 26,500 people whereas Kogarah has just 10,900.
