Would you rather be by Vesuvius when it erupted or be by St Helens when it erupted?. Some people ask this question because both eruptions seemed pretty bad . For example , pompeii was covered in ash because of vesuvius. Although, there are many differences between the two volcanoes and their eruptions they also have a lot in common. These are some ways they are alike and different.
Both volcanoes have a lot in common. For example, there both stratovolcanoes. A stratovolcano is one of the deadliest type of volcanoes because they make toxic gasses and also make pyroclastic flow. Also, both volcanoes preceded by tremors,which are small earthquakes . Also, they both had giant ash clouds over the two volcanoes when they erupted.In addition, the big ash on both volcanoes cloud spudded out more ash and pumice. .During the both eruptions people sadly lost their lives. During the mount st helens eruption most escaped with their lives , however this was not the case with vesuvius. Most people died during the eruption of vesuvius because they had no advanced warning.
