“Through leadership, commanders provide purpose, direction, and motivation to subordinate commanders, their staff, and Soldiers.” Unlike General McClellan, General Lee used his position to create an organization, which encouraged individual initiative. Lee handpicked his subordinate’s whom he trusted and who took initiative. Lee and his generals formed a mutually supportive team, where each had absolute trust in the others. They easily interchanged duties and troops among each other. “This team was responsible for survival at Antietam and major Confederate victories both before and after Antietam. Lee shared and discussed his strategy with his generals. He made the final decisions and granted his generals autonomy in carrying them out.”…

King Frederick the Great of Prussia displayed similarities throughout his rule to the Russian King, Peter with his military tactics and taxation. During his reign, King Frederick established a great standing army and financed his army by imposing permanent taxation (Wallbank). A strong army was needed to protect the Prussian land and King Frederick built the best standing army in Europe, consisting of 80,000 men. In order to fund his military, Frederick continued permanent taxation on his people. Similarly, King Peter modernized his army of 200,000 men and levied heavy taxes to support his large army (Wallbank). Under his rule, Peter I made the position of a soldier a lifetime job, contributing to his substantial army. As a result to constructing an immense military, Peter enforced an onerous tax on the people. Likewise, both rulers developed large militia and instituted taxes to asset their armies.…

In his book Human Rights and Global Diversity, Robert Paul Churchill aims to identify and emphasize the universality of human rights, arguing that “human beings everywhere have the same human right” (Churchill xi). Churchill proposes that cross-cultural negotiations must be implemented to bridge the gap between cultural differences and gain international consensus of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). With respect to valuing the UDHR and promoting universal human rights regardless of culture, the best method of cross-cultural negotiation is the transformational strategy. This method would be the most successful because its broad use of human rights language allows for worldwide communication and participation, thus eliminating…

Both nations were aware of the increase of the use of weapons and used that to determine the nation's’ destructive power. It was at this time that innovation occurred and today we enjoy the great benefit of these technological advancements, despite the human and political costs…

Being just is an indispensable part of leadership. It is a full-time duty where one is always a spectacle for others in his actions. On the other hand the latter is famous for treating people like animals and doing wrong things behind the veil of his leadership.…
