1. How the teacher should act * A teacher should be professional at all times. A teacher should be able to be distinguished from any other person in the building. * A teacher should be dedicated to what he/she does. Being dedicated is going the extra mile for what he/she believes in. * A teacher should be speaking with dignity and confidence that he/she knows what they are doing. Also that teacher should own up to their mistakes. * A teacher should act like a lady/man because the students look up to them as examples. 2. How students are expected to behave * Students are expected to follow directions that are given to them. When given directions they are expected to do them expeditiously. * They are expected to be self-aware and make correct decisions on their own with limited guidance. * They are expected to have respect for adults and their classmates. They also must take care of their things and be prepared everyday. * Students are expected to be well mannered. This means they will speak, say yes ma’am or sir, and hold the door for others (boys). 3. What the classroom might look and feel like * The classroom should be student friendly. Everything posted in the room should understandable on that students’ level. * The classroom should feel safe. The student should feel comfortable to go to the teacher about anything. * There should be an imaginary line and understanding between the teacher’s role and the students roe in the classroom. The student should know what they can and cant do also the teacher. * The classroom should intensify learning and not play. The students should know once they enter the room they are there to learn and not play. 4. How the teacher helps students conduct themselves properly * The teacher will enforce rules and routines and stay persistent with what they do. With persistence the teacher get the student trained to behave and act a certain way. * Modeling the correct behavior and how the student should act is another way to get students to conduct themselves. When a student see the person that is teaching them conduct them correct they tend to do the same. * Respecting the student as human being and not belittling them also helps with conduct. Everyone wants to feel alive and special. * Giving the student a little free space to make some decision their selves and not treat them like children. Have very high expectations as a teacher and rewarding them for doing well. 5. What the teacher should do about misbehavior * Have rules that are easy to maintain and manage. All students must follow rules don’t show favoritism. * Create a list of consequences and stay consistent with them. Consistency is the key to success. * Don’t just acknowledge bad behavior but acknowledge the good behavior. Use reinforces to keep the rules constant. * Make the student take responsibility for what he or she has done. 6. How students should be taught what is expected of them * Tell them what you expect of them and make sure they understand. When you know better you do better. * Tell and show them what is not expected of them. Telling them what is not acceptable and stays consistent. * Show that you care when they do what is expected of them by rewarding them with something nice.
