us and thousands of other people. The next way Antonella and I are similar is quite materialistic, but still true. A computer is the best item anyone has ever gifted us. Not even a piece of jewelry or family heirloom, but an electronic device. I guess that shows how much of a “typical teenager” we are. We, both, listen to The Neighbourhood and The Weeknd, but the similarities in our music taste ends there. As far as I know, this is all we have in common. I know I’ll learn more, as we get to know each other. Our personalities are on quite opposite spectrums.
Antonella’s messy and unorganized, while I’m neat and display perfectionist characteristics. Nobody would ever describe me as, all over the place, which is what she refers herself as. In our families, we are both most like our mothers, as we get these traits from them. Speaking of families, Antonella has three younger siblings: two sisters and one brother. On the other hand, I actually have none. She is more family-oriented. From her answers to certain questions, you can definitely tell she’s close to her family and loves them very much. Antonella is the happiest with her family and going on trips is her favorite activity with them. I love you’s, from her family, are what she considers, the best things ever said to her. I’m not very sentimental like that, so I can’t relate to her responses. My family doesn’t share their affections as openly and we don’t regularly do any group activities. I would actually consider my alone time as my “happy place”, rather than time spent with family, which is quite the opposite of Antonella’s
response. Even the basic facts about us are different. Antonella was born in New York, while I was born in China. Black and pink are my favorite colors, while her is blue. Television is something she no longer watches, but I still do. Even back when she did, Once Upon A Time was her favorite. I, personally, never watched it. I would consider Arrow or Parks and Recreation, as one of my favorite shows. She enjoys playing volleyball; on the other hand, I don’t play or watch any sports. I regard myself as a very open-minded person. Antonella said if she were to change something about herself, it would actually be to be more open-minded. She informed me of her habit of biting her nails. That is something I refuse to ever do. After considering it, Antonella reckons The Notebook is her favorite movie and tiramisu soup as her favorite dessert. I’ve never even watched the movie or tried the dish before. When you consciously find the similarities and differences between another person and yourself, you realize how unique every person is. Each person is their own entity. When you meet new people, it really hits you how diverse people’s lives and personalities are, from your own. It’s quite enlightening to see the contrast and resemblance in other people.
