With Beowulf, Grendel, Grendel’s mother and the dragon were all enemies that he fought to retain peace. Malala on the other hand, does not use swords or super strength, but instead uses the power of her voice to spread awareness. The Taliban are pulling women and young men out of school so they can not receive an education. This shows that even the worst people can recognize how powerful an education can be. This group is going against everything Malala stands for, and like Beowulf, Malala chose to fight. As we see in Beowulf, however Heroes can be taken down, heroes can be defeated by their enemy. I define her as a stubborn, committed women who wants to see every child receive a quality education, women having equal rights, and peace all around the world. Malala is a warrior, and that is why today she is robust, and the youngest women to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala Yousafzai is not only my hero but a hero to millions in her home country. To the Anglo- Saxon, Beowulf is also a stubborn, committed and strong man. He has amazing courage, noble qualities, and defines our superhero today. Qualities between these heroes are parallel. Whether a person’s hero is fictitious or a real world activist, they both give a feeling of tranquility and security that our world
