Through the journey of high school, it is very often common for one to acquire two different types of friendships, or in other words, a guy friend and a girl friend. One can argue that these two relationships have just as many similarities as they do differences, but in many cases, it’s the differences of these two polar friendships that make them an ideal mix for any person in need of some good lovin’ pals. Whether it be a need for some tough love or a genuine hug and chocolate, this is when the differences of gender opposite friendships come into play. Guys and gals differ in almost whichever way possible. From what they like to talk about, to how they feel about Oprah’s show comping to an end, or to how concerned they are with their appearance and demeanor, it’s quite apparent that if a girl was to approve and agree with one side of the coin, the guy is almost definitely likely to defend the opposite. Ladies first. Female friends are always there when you need to talk, or when you just want to have some fun and go crazy. If one correctly follows the concrete-set stereotype employed by society, girls are your emotion go getters. Break out the chocolate therapy and chick flicks, because if you’re in a ditch and seek some advice, this is your girl friend’s kryptonite. Come to her with your problems and she’d be listening with all ears and an open heart, willing to do all that she can to make you smile again, even if this may require a few white lies once in a blue moon. Girls are also typically more stuck up than your average guy pal. In other terms, a girl’s tendency to overreact to minute situations leads to three results- drama; gossip, and cat fighting. Movies and books throughout the world such as “Mean Girls” or Twilight, are perfect examples of how real life females can get.
