Compare/Contrast: Indoor and Outdoor Sports
There are many disadvantages when discussing indoor and outdoor sports. Indoor sports can be good because a person does not have to worry about the weather. It can rain, hail or snow and it will not affect a sporting event. It also does not get really hot and stays a constant temperature. The teams do not have to worry about the terrain being torn up from the weather. There are also sports that have to be played indoors such as racquetball.
The problem with indoor sports is that there is no natural air so the home team has to pay for an air conditioning system. It is also harder to breathe causing players to become fatigued quicker. In addition, playing indoor sports causes the arena to be much louder than an outdoor arena due to the enclosed area and echoes. This can also make it harder for the players to hear the coach’s instructions or other team mates. Outdoor sports can be really nice when the weather permits. However, when the weather is bad, it can hinder a player’s performance. Outdoor sports are also wonderful because the fresh air, it’s easier to breathe and the noise level is still loud but you don’t have to deal with the echoes like indoor arenas have. The major thing to think about when comparing indoor and outdoor sports is the price of the facilities and the price to maintain the facilities the sports are played in. Outdoor sports are beneficial due to lighting because when it is daylight you do not have to turn the lights on. There also is not an air or heat bill. It can get costly if bad weather destroys the field. Indoor sports get costly due to heating, air conditioning, and the cost of keeping the facilities lighted. The game will go of regardless of rain or shine so very few ticket refunds. I have always liked outdoor sports more than indoor sports. I love the sunshine but more importantly, the lights on a football
