Compare Contrast Latin American and Nor
Compare Contrast Latin American and North American Civilization There were many similarities and differences in the Latin American and North American civilizations (1450-1700 AD). They had similar social and economic structure and differing political structures. Both used the same type of social classes. The North and Latin American civilizations had hierarchical social classes based on ethnicity. The economic make-up of the people living in the civilization was very diverse. The North had people coming over from England, France, and Africa and mixed as well. Latin America was made up of the Portuguese, Spain, Natives of the homeland, and Africans as well. Both of these two civilizations had differing political structures. The North operated under independent joint stock companies while Latin America conquered for their native country. Both Latin America and North America had the same type of hierarchical social class system based on ethnicity. Latin America created many different mixed classes though. North America wasn’t as diverse as Latin America but, they were both using pretty much the same system. Both systems had a top class of the structure. Both civilizations had their top class consist of the Europeans who ruled and came from their country. In the middle class of the system you found all of the mixed races. In Latin America there were mixed European and Native people, they also had babies born in the Americas found here in the class system. The North their middle class had mixed whites and blacks. Usually they sold the mixed children/people into slavery. Finally comes the lowest class of the system, the slaves. In Latin America the slaves were at the beginning Natives but soon they needed more slaves so Africans came over as slaves. In the North the Africans brought over were the slaves. They also had a system for indentured servants in which you would come over from Europe under a contract to work as a slave/servant for a certain person. After the contract was up the indentured servants would be free. During this time the North mainly had wars with the natives and didn’t enslave them. Both of these civilizations operated under the same form of economic systems and had the same general ethnicity makeup. Both of these civilizations were founded under Europeans that were conquering land in the Americas. Latin America had Europeans hailing from Portugal and Spain. The North had Europeans hailing from France and England. All of the Europeans who came over were looking to rule and conquer lands for their country. Both Latin America and North America had the same makeup of their enslavement process. The Latin American Europeans enslaved many natives under the system Mit’a. This is where certain Spanish and Portuguese people were allowed to have a plot of land and enslave any native on it. This allowed for most of the natives to become enslaved. In the North it was much simpler. They received a plot of land and were shipped Africans for enslavement. The North also had indentured servants come over to help as well. Both of the civilizations had differing political systems in which they came under representing different countries/companies. In Latin America, conquistadors or Spanish conquerors came over and claimed land under the name of their country, Spain. Whereas in North America, explorers came over under the support of independent joint stock companies. In Latin America explorers and conquistadors came over under the support of their countries king. Once the conquistadors conquered a certain plot of land their king chose a viceroy to rule that land and be the leader. The viceroys were then ruled by their king that they represented. In the North, explorers came over to America under the support of independent joint stock companies. They conquered in the name of their own sake or they conquered for their joint stock company they represented. These companies in turn gave the explorers a grant to come over to the New World and have land. Eventually the king took over the companies and ruled the colonies of the New World. In conclusion, Latin America and North America had the same social and economic systems but, differed in the makeup of their political systems. In Latin America and North America they both had social hierarchical social classes based on ethnicity. They also operated under the same economic systems. Finally, Latin America and North America differed in the way of who they were supported by and who they represented.

The differences between the americas are mainly because the Spanish and the British forced their culture on the land that they claimed. The Indians and slaves had to follow the belief systems that were laid out for them by the “Old World” countries. If the Circumstance were flipped the french most likely would have been more involved. The Spanish culture only spread because the Aztecs were not very spread out like the tribes in North America. If the British took over South America, life today would most likely be completely different.…

The same way Tony has a mix of two different ways of life, I do too. Both of my parents were born and raised in El Salvador, while I was born and raised in the United States. The Salvadorian and American culture are very different. In the Salvadorian culture everyone is family oriented and spend as much time as possible with their loved ones. Furthermore the Salvadorian culture does not consider education as a very important matter, getting a job and earning money is more important. The reason for this is that in El Salvador there is a lot of poverty, rather than learning, one's job is to bring food to the table and earn money for necessities. My parents are always reminding me that once I get older I’m going to have to provide for them because that's just “how…
