As you walk into Billy’s Sporting Goods store on I-95 you see the most monumental sports store you’ve ever seen. Equipment as far as the eyes can see. Everything from base ball bats to football helmets and even fishing wire. They were acclaimed as “Top sporting goods store in the state of Florida.” This year by Sporting Consumer Magazine Monthly. But not only do you see all the air hockey tables and basketball hoops, you see the hardest workers around in this store. Every one of them doing their best to help the customer with whatever it is they need help with. What no one can really see is the fact that there is a competition going on here, but not like a football or basketball competition but a job competition. A sort of “battle” to see who is more qualified for the job as Manager of the “Top sporting goods store in the state of Florida.” There are two employees in the running. First, there is Matt; Matt is a twenty nine year old male who grew up in southern Florida. He mostly enjoys fishing and basketball at the YMCA with his friends. Then there is Rob; Rob is thirty four years old who was born in Wisconsin and went to school at the University of Wisconsin for business study. The current manager is going into retirement in two weeks and has narrowed his new managerial choices down to Matt and Rob. He has created a list of qualities that he believes are required to have success at the manager position. He believes that the perfect manager consists of three major important qualities.
