Malcolm X and Michele Norris
Racism is a problem that the American people have grappled with since colonial times. Malcolm X and Michele Norris grew up in different environments. Michele Norris was raised in a comfortable middle-class family. On the other hand, Malcolm X came from an underprivileged home. He was a self-taught man who received little schooling and rose to greatness on his own intelligence and determination.
Michele Norris' parents were the first blacks on their block in Minneapolis. Her father was a Navy vet, raised in Birmingham before civil rights arrived. Malcolm X was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. Malcolm X learned about his father’s death as suicide, but he know it was not. On the other hand, Michele Norris learned about his father death that he’s been shot by a police man. Both had to go through the loss of their father at young age. They both have to live with their mother, after the death of their fathers, but for Malcolm X that doesn’t last.
After the death of her father, Norris struggle to understand her parents. She painstakingly tracks down police records, pores over military documents and interviews her father's contemporaries to find the truth in family lore. For Malcolm X, he was being split from his brother and sister and sent to various foster homes and orphanages. He started to steal thing,do drugs and got arrested. Malcolm’s experience of racial prejudice from both white and black people shows the extent to which racism is ingrained in society.
The early backgrounds of Malcolm X and Michele Norris were largely responsible of the death of their father. Michele Norris even tho her father is dead she still has her mom, aunt and grandparents to teach her. For Malcolm X , his father is dead he was separated from his mother, brothers and sisters. Malcolm X has to go through more pain than Michele Norris.
Malcolm X and Michele Norris are both remembered as a good person who fought for a
