Some companies may even have more than one commercial in an effort to reach and persuade those that are outside of their usual demographic to begin purchasing their products. Not only taking into account the obvious message, it is important to also analyze and look into the subcomponents, such as imagery and dialogue, that makes conveying their message successful.…

As preproduction work, I have created a magazine cover and its content page featuring the film I have “produced”. A film magazine actually plays a very important role in marketing the film. I’ve learnt that a film magazine should be carefully designed and planned so that it attracts the target audience and their age range, which I have decided particularly. The film magazine can help to “sell” the film because it has a wide target reader who would buy and read it. If it is not appealing enough to the audience, then the magazine would not be successful and, as result, the film featured in the magazine would hardly be successful too.…

The interesting bits about bridesmaids are the many concepts revealed, such as: status, envy, and career disappointment. The main focus is the growing relationship the women have with each other. What’s dramatized in these characters is not the traditional single women qualities and the many struggles of holding down a relationship, but instead, the envy and the competition women have with one another in order to always stay a few steps ahead.…

These posters will have a similar basic format but will have a slightly different tone to the messages (Item 2). The poster will also feature a short message on the poster that will grab the attention of the reader. An example of this would be, “I didn’t think he would take it that far” in quotation marks. This quote will be paired with a picture of a casket or grave. This will also be a tactic to persuade the audience at a precontemplation stage that will appeal to the reader’s emotions. This will also be an implementation of the Extended Parallel Processing model and the Elaboration Likelihood Model. The major implication of this message is that a close friend could commit suicide unexpectedly. This introduces a fearful threat to the audience. The threat insinuates both severity and susceptibility, which are required for persuasion based on EPPM. It also adds personal relevance as a motivation for those who may not think they need to be taught about depression according to…

It is undeniable that the types of films being released and audience expectations have changed hugely over the years. Between the 1920s and 1960s, the Hollywood studio system dominated all aspects of film production. Consequently, they needed to create films that were appealing and accessible to the masses in order to maximise profits (Gomery, 1999: 247-252). These classical Hollywood films had similar traits such as: characters with clear goals and personalities, a tight chain of cause and effect, dual plotlines, appointments and deadlines, a clear opening, a strong closure, invisible…

Love is complicated, and there’s no denying the amount of effort it requires to have something real, none of that puppy dog crap. People seem to forget that the beginning to all deep, intimate relationships is the very first step. It all begins with that first look, and that first smile, and that first laugh. Like a marionette to a manipulator, someone snatches your heart with Cupid’s arrow and makes you dance. Your every thought, action, perception on life is altered for as long this person controls you. If there’s a chance, every living molecule in your body will tell you to chase your heart, and to go and win it all. In the movie Wedding Crashers, such feelings captivate John Beck (Owen Wilson), and in this essay, we’ll explore his journey to the heart of Claire Cleary (Rachel McAdams).…

Pride and Prejudice vs Bride and Prejudice - More than a change of One LetterThe film, Pride and Prejudice directed by Joe Wright, had more of a natural tone setting and feeling to it. The scenery really draws the audience in by nature and the assumed innocence of the characters. Bride and Prejudice directed by Gurinder Chadha, is considered to be a Bollywood style movie. Bride… had a complete makeover of Pride… with an Indian traditional style twist. The main characters in both films were Lizzie (Lalita in Bride…) and Darcy. Both films were shot on location in the United Kingdom; with a few shots of Bride… shot in the United States. The director used a lot of colors and symbolism in this movie. After reviewing both films, the claim about marriage became very evident that marriage can be beneficial to everyone involved.…

One quote that I found only recently, yet is now of my favorite quotes to live by is, “The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” – Albert Ellis. To me this quote means that you are happiest once you realize that you are in control of your own future. If you have a problem, you have to…
