honest man which is most likely why he’s going on this trip. He seems to need someone to talk to him about the things he does. The reeve has a very well shaved beard and very thin legs that look like sticks. He grows rich because of the things he takes. The parson is an old honest man who works as clerk. Anything he earns from working he donates to the church. The parson is a very caring person. He doesn’t wear very expensive clothing which says a lot about him. The parson instead of taking money from the church like others probably would, gives money every chance he gets. He doesn’t want the attention some of the other characters in the story want.
Both the reeve and the parson are going on this trip. It seems that they might both are also going to become better people. For the reeve to be taking things and giving them back as a present isn’t very honest. The parson being an already nice and honest person, wants to go to learn about things that could be done to help out more. They both most likely wear ugly clothes because neither have money to buy very luxurious clothing. The reeve and the parson are both hard working men.
The characters in the story of “The Canterbury Tales” are similar in many ways. They all for one are going on the pilgrimage for a specific reason. Some are going to see what they can take out of it. Others are going because they simply want to try to become better individuals for doing some of the things they’ve done. Anywhere you might go, something will always show you the real side of a person.
