Have you ever wondered where the celebrities with bodies to envy work out? You might imagine that the rich and famous achieve their enviable physiques with private personal trainers and state-of-the-art home gyms, but many celebrities choose to work out at their local fitness club. Just like you and me. Equinox, Gold's Gym and Powerhouse Gym are just a few of the gyms frequented by the stars.

Equinox
Equinox is an award-winning gym with gyms throughout the United States. Each Equinox has cardio equipment, free weights, personal trainers and full spa facilities, including massages and bronzing. The gyms high-profile celebrity clientele includes Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Jodie Foster, Gwynneth Paltrow, David Duchovny and Kiefer Sutherland. Many celebs are drawn to the gym for the multitude of group fitness classes, which include pilates, yoga, cycling, High-Intensity Interval Training, and even meditation. The clubs also have Kiehl's-stocked locker rooms, plush towels, and Wi-Fi throughout. The VIP area, called “E”, is an invitation-only zone with high-level trainers, state-of-the-art equipment, private showers and a separate lounge area.     On the first floor are the basketball courts, racquetball courts, aerobics room, rock wall, and swimming pool. On the second floor there is a track that goes around the basketball courts, a large weight room with the cardio machines next to it, and then a free weights area with a few machines off to the side. The first floor tends to be occupied by groups of people. The first floor provides activates for teams or groups, such as a pick-up game of basketball. The aerobics room attracts mostly women with very few men attending the classes. The second floor tends to be more segregated and separated. The cardio machines are a free for all for both genders but the ellipticals are heavily occupied by women. The weights machines are where almost all of the men spend the majority of their time; very little you will find women working out amongst the men on the weight machines. The free weights off to the side are where women who want to use weights mostly go. It is secluded, if you might not know exactly what you are doing or are not in peak physical condition this area provides a more private setting with less traffic. The layout of the gym provides almost everyone with an area they can go where they feel most comfortable.
