a well known salesman. While he doesn’t really care about his younger son Happy because all of his hope is on Biff. Willy has been a salesman all his life but has never really been the salesman he dreams of being a rich ,well known and well liked salesman.He puts his dream and hope on his son's back expecting him to be just that. In both of these plays the sons are stuck doing things that their fathers expect them to do without even knowing if they really want to do it. A son doesn't have to be what his father wants him to be but should pursue what he thinks will bring him satisfaction and happiness.
