Unaware of the treacheries to navigate around the alien world, the Tiger, one of the quainter ships, ran aground and a generous portion of the cargo was lost. Once the seven ships ultimately dropped anchor into the shallow water surrounding the island, the Indians had no advanced emotions towards the English. By the time the English arrived, Powhatan was the head of the Indians, dominating a few dozen tribes in the James River area. Initially, the Indians considered the English as potential allies because the English helped them to control other Indian tribes in the region. However, the relationship between them aggravated as time went on. One of the reasons is because the different languages and cultures caused general precautions. But, more importantly, it was the confliction upon the matter of survival. Since the majority of the early colonists were adventurous gentlemen who were highly educated and not accustomed to hard labors, there were insufficient labor forces for farming and domestic affairs. Therefore, the initial colonists often confronted significant food deficiencies, which…

The English colonization of North America was the beginning of a new world, a world that brought people from different continents, cultures, and religious backgrounds together. This new world was populated by Native American tribes, colonists, explorers, and traders from Spain, France, and the Netherlands. Of course all these different cultures could not agree on everything, which eventually lead to more colonies forming with many different bylaws. Most of these colonies had little success in the early years of their settlement due to disease and malnutrition. The Europeans soon realized the knowledge received from the Native people would be a major factor in the survival of their newly structured communities.…

He was forced to stay in Europe for 3 YEARS! Finally he sailed back to Roanoke with supplies, but when he got there he didn't see any evidence of the colonies existence! Not one nail scrap or bead was left. John White spent the next 5 years searching the island for his family. He only found 3 clues which were a neatly piled skeleton, the word KRO carved into a tree, and the word Croatoan carved into a fence. The only explanation that makes sense is that the native Americans from the nearby tribe Algonquians were "determined to resist the English who were settling on their land" (All Colonist were killed by Indians) and they wanted to fight back also because the original 100 settlers burned the natives crop fields! After killing the settlers, the indians would have had plenty of time to loot all of the villages supplies. This explanation explains that "there were colonist friendly natives called the croatoans which explains the word carved into the fence." (All colonist were killed by Indians) and the letters KRO carved into the tree. "The Croatoans went to war around the time the settlers came" and you can tell that the pile of bones was a warning to either the Croatoans or the Algonquians to stay away. Overall The theory that The settlers were killed by Indians is the best…

The colonists would be outnumbered if they decided to try to take over the Indians even though they were equipped with firearms. The Indians were resourceful,…
