In the passage “Politics and the english language” by George Orwell and the passage “A Language” by Susan Stewart there both stating good point in the article’s/ passage’s. But george Orwell article he is basically saying you have to get short and to the point. And by him saying this I understood a little bit of where he is coming from cause in the text he say’s “It has nothing to do with correct grammar and syntax as long one make one’s meaning clear,or with the avoidance of americanisms”(Oswell 1) so he is basically saying all you have to do is got your point across there's really no need for you to say anything extra …show more content…
just make it short and simply but at the same time you can also not know what you are talking about and get to the point . That's what he is trying to say to the reader but he is also correct because some people are comfortable talking like that if it is your style or way in talking then that is you
But in “A Language” by Susan Stewart she is trying to say it depends on the emotion that you put in it that's what she is saying but the only thing about it you can put emotions in it thinking that's going to get the reader's attention but some people are really not looking for that when writing or being spoken to cause you never know if the other person you are talking to will feel the same way as you or if they dont.
But if you put emotion into your writing it also is about what the topic is on cause in her text she sa” i remembered then, the miscarriage, and before that the months of waiting : like baskets filled with bright shapes, the imagination run wild. And then what arrived;”(Stewart 4) that right there is an emotional topic you can get straight to the point like George Orwell was saying in his article but Susan stewart tried to put all her stories in a poem so yes at the same time you must find the clues so you can get what she is
saying.
Now in the both of the articles they have good topics or good sentences in their passages Oswell said “ one could keep all of them and still have bad english” (oswell 2) yes he speaked the truth some people can have all the rules to writing but when they talk it does not sound reasonable or get your attention when speaking now you can sound fashionable in you languages but how you expect for people to agree with you if u just trying to make a sentence and you're not confident in what you are saying then what was the purpose. In susan she said “ There was a myth i once knew about twins who spoke a private language “ (susan 2)see people can have their own style of talking and no one can judge its whatever fit you.
In my conclusion both of the author have a good point on there belive on how you should talk to other people but in my opinion it's all how you want people to view you and judge you yes you can sound fancy in your talk and yes some time you will have to express your feeling depends on what it is sometimes the fancy words can make you look smart but if you don't know what your talking about then that was a waste of time
