The main idea of Psalm 23 is how it says that God will always provide everything a person needs, and also take care of us, as long as the person seeking help from him does good to the world. There is a part where it says that the speaker walks thru the valley of the shadow of the dead, but not alone as he walks thru it with the guidance of God and his shepherd. Another theme that the Sermon is trying to convey is if we are to forgive the people who do bad to us, he will let us enter his kingdom of heaven and be happy. Furthermore, this does not exactly mean that God will provide you happiness, but as we forgive people we do not have to carry the burden of our problems. One of the ways on how Psalm 23 and The Sermon on the Mount are not alike is how the Psalm is more of a healing prayer and The Sermon on the Mount is made more to teach us. The similarity that stood the most out to me was how they both ended stating that the end of their journey will be in the kingdom or house of the lord.
