First, the story’s character. The “Tale-Tell Heart” characters are the narrator which is the main character, the old man with the big eye, and the police officers. The “Monkey’s Paw” characters are Mr. and Mrs.White, Herbert, and Sergeant-Major Morris. Mr. White is the main character. Both story main characters go through crazy situation. In “Tell-Tale Heart” the main goes through this insane thing over the old man’s big eye and in “The Monkey’s Paw” Mr. White has this paw that has wishes but a terrible thing happens afterwards. …show more content…
In the stories some of the foreshadowing ends up for death. Like in “The Monkey’s Paw” When Mr. White made a wish on the paw for 200 pounds and his son Herbert said, “I don’t see the money and I bet I never shall.” Later after that Herbert dies and the wish came true. In “Tell-Tale Heart” foreshadowing shows when the old man’s heart starts to beat loudly and the narrator goes crazy that was indicting that the narrator was going to kill the old man and it happened.
Third, the irony of the stories. Like in the second paragraph the irony of the stories both end up in death. In both stories the irony is verbal irony.Verbal irony is when words express something contrary to truth or someone says the opposite of what they really feel or mean. In “Tell-Tale Heart” the narrator kills the old man and tries to conceal the murder then his crime causes his incarceration.
