Adaptations: Living in forests, Koalas are about to survive due to numerous adaptations. One interesting adaptation a female koala has is the usage of marsupials, or pouches on their bellies. These pouches help to raise their young while living atop trees. Another adaptation koalas have is the thick fur which covers their bodies. This thick fur makes living in trees much more comfortable. When looking at other parts of the koala bear, the tail end of its body is covered with more fur than the rest, giving a cushioning effect while sitting on branches. Koala bears also have a curved spine. This curved spine also works towards making sitting on tree branches a more comfortable…
Over 400 years ago, the Powhatan Indians inhabited a place called Jamestown, Virginia. Their every-day life was disrupted, though, when, in 1607, a ship carrying men from England came to claim their land, making Jamestown their new capital. This could have been seen as a bright opportunity for both parties: the Powhatan Indians could have shared their knowledge of the land they occupied, and the English could have shared some of the skills and technology brought over with them. But, of course, the two groups found that they had many differences. They had a hard time sharing and trading because of how different they were, such as in their belief systems, materials and resources, and their living environments to name a few.…
The Kwakiutl tribe was very intelligent people who were able to develop a strong and dependent society by creating multiple uses of the dense woods, coastal rivers, and the ocean. Their adaptive strategy used in the northwest pacific surrounding was so unique and complex that the tribe could function systematically on their own. From the abundant supply of food from the waters around them, agriculture was not necessary to them in this area, even though the dense wild life had plenty of vegetation to offer from the nuts and berries to hunting animals for their hide. However, they did not hunt to stock up on food but more for the warm useful hides of the animals to have more clothing through the year. However, they were able to create other useful clothing out of cedar bark. There was many things made from the cedar bark such as woven baskets, shirts, everyday skirts for the women, the cedar tree was a big part of this culture. Most of the U.S. has similar weather patterns, while places like Florida and Hawaii has tropical weather, and Alaska has arctic weather. However, weather is only one of the many things that the land of the Hittite and the U,S, have many similarities and differences to.…

Imperialism is an arrangement of a country’s power being expanded by the impact of diplomatic and military means. The Europeans and British wanted to take over other countries/colonies and imperialized for new natural resources, new markets, and the belief in European superiority. The first reason the imperialized is because they would get the new natural resources of that land such as copper, tin, gold, and diamonds. They were in control of or owned those resources. Another reason the British imperialized was because of the new markets they could sell to, which helped them gain more customers, since they ran the government they got to determine where people buy things from. The last reason they imperialized is because they were racist and thought they were the best which is the belief in European superiority. The idea of imperializing was becoming very popular during this…
Many Native Americans Died in new england of a European diseases from 1500's to 1600's. After each hardship occurred several neighboring tribes decided to merge together, making their identities very indistinct, even within the indian oral history. However the Abenaki tribe, to avoid the reoccurring hardship moved to Canada, which in fact gave them their name the " Canadian Indians" but they are originally natives to New England. Although the Abenaki strategies to survival was to merge with others and to momentarily cover up their existence resulted in the tribe not able to receive federal recognition it ultimately ensured their people survival.…
Conflict between European kingdoms led to an interest in colonies and trading posts that might strengthen the emerging nations. This expansionism introduced Europeans to African and American societies that had evolved over centuries, and the cultural interaction that followed initial contacts between these civilizations profoundly influenced western…

During the 16th and 17th centuries, when the Europeans started to come over to the new world, they discovered a society of Indians that was strikingly different to their own. To understand how different, one must first compare and contrast some of the very important differences between them, such as how the Europeans considered the Indians to be extremely primitive and basic, while, considering themselves civilized. The Europeans considered that they were model societies, and they thought that the Indians society and culture should be changed to be very similar to their own.…
Diversity among culture and society derived from the diverse terrains the Siberians encountered in the new world. The northwestern tribes lived close to big bodies of water and relied greatly on fishing for survival. They depended on whale, halibut, and salmon since preserving it through drying was easy to do. Due to this tribes in the Northwestern region did not rely greatly on hunting, instead they had the luxury of free time. During this time they picked up the art of woodcarving which they used to denote class and wealth.(14) Like the Northwestern tribes the Southwestern tribes did not rely greatly on hunting, instead they relied greatly on agriculture. This paved the way to a more relaxed way of life where they picked up pottery and had a much more stable life. This also made it possible for a social hierarchy to emerge.(16) Unlike the North and southwestern regions tribes that lived in the great basin region had a much more diverse way of life due to the diverse climate. The way of life relied greatly on whether it was a rainy season or not. During rainy periods tribes could rely on large marshes and lakes for fishing. While during the drier seasons tribes relied on the foothills of mountains where there were deer, antelope, and rabbits. Due to this, tribes in the great basin region…
The Mayan, Aztec, and Inca civilizations were the largest empires in the lands we now call Latin America. The Mayans, the oldest of these three great civilizations, built their empire in what is now southern Mexico and Central America. Mayan civilization had collapsed when the Aztecs built huge pyramids to their gods. The Aztecs built well-organized cities and developed a writing system. The Incans created a road system to connect their empire in the Andes Mountains. They also developed an irrigation system and their own language.…
Baba is criticizing the Muslim faith and isn't a strict Muslim, if he is one at all. (E) Baba may naturally be brash and outrageous instead of spiteful like I said earlier. (CL) Most religious leaders now tend to be bigoted and spew what they believe as fact and confuse children who're forced to listen to them. It’s unfair and doesn't allow children to choose their own faith. (R) "god help us all if Afghanistan ever falls into their hands." (17) is clear reference to the later civil war and extreme Islamic conservatism that took over Afghanistan in the 1990s and early 2000’s. The Afghanistan in the modern world and the Afghanistan Baba and Amir are living in are very different. (C) (P)…
