Technology has advanced immensely over the last hundred years. We are able to do things only imaginable not so long ago, as well as things that may be deemed as unconstitutional.
With this new technology we are capable of spying on people, finding people, tapping phone lines, and getting a hold of information previously not accessible. While these actions can be used in order to maintain the safety of a nation, how does one know that this is not happening around the clock? If not careful the future of our nation could look like that of Oceania and Big
Brother, from George Orwell’s 1984 . Our technology has the power to take us closer to the world of Big Brother if we do not take steps in order to prevent this demise.

By uploading a picture of the suspect or criminal to their computer system, the cameras are able to detect the person through face recognition and find where they are or the last place that they were in.
An even scarier new advance in technology has allowed systems and people to be able to access the cameras and microphones on our smartphones to be on, listening and watching people’s everyday lives without one ever knowing. This is a direct invasion of privacy. What makes this an invasion of privacy is being able to control the phone without the consent of the owner.
