In the first way the monkeys paw and the 3rd wish are different in that the 3rd wish didn't use all three wishes he died happily on his bed with his last wish on him and that he was protected by his wife and by her sister. Then in the monkeys paw he was forced into wishing his son back to existence then he used hid last to undo the 2nd so his wife didn't have to see him. Then the monkeys paw ends sorrowful and sad as it said in the book "The street lamp flickering opposite shone on a quiet deserted road" (Jacobs 99). Although the 3rd wish it ends happily ever after like I said up in this paragraph. Truly just because it has three wishes doesn't mean that both of the stories are the same although both are the same in many ways but more
