That was when his passion for acting became even stronger. And when he was 17, he dropped out of school with his father’s permission in order to become a professional actor. After that, Downey Jr. moved to New York, where he shared accommodation with his sister, while trying to get his acting career started. Approximately 1,697 letters of Marque were designated to privateer ships in the course of the Revolutionary War, while the Continental Navy had just under 70 ships. Letters of Marque were licenses to ships to legally attack or raid enemy ships, drawing comparisons to legalized piracy. The discrepancy between the letters of Marque, or numbers of privateer ships, and naval vessels makes clear which mode of naval aggression was preferred in the United States; however, privateering was not necessarily a positive for the U.S. The practice of privateering was detrimental to the United States because it stagnated the development of the U.S. Navy, made the U.S. Navy redundant, and ran contrary to American values.…

He used to take me to films. I was always very interested in stuff like that, but because of the part of town I was from, a career in acting wasn't even an option. I remember talking to my mother one day and said, "I think I want to become an actor." And she said, "You can't become an actor. You don't look like Paul Newman." (laughs) I thank God every day that I don't look like Paul Newman. The good thing about being a character actor is that there's always some spectacled, balding guy somewhere needed for a show, and the characters are always interesting. And you don't have anybody going through your garbage at night. (laughs) I'm always meeting people who think they know me, right? "I know you from somewhere." And I start to say, "Well, I'm from this show--" And they say, "No, no, no, not that!" (laughs) It's funny and it's great when that happens. You know your work is getting out there to the people. So I just started doing it--I never really had any training or anything. Because I've always looked older, they could hire me and not have to hire the young guys and put shoe polish in their hair or anything. So I started with plays. And then the first film I did--I came to Vancouver--it was called Brotherly Love. I was playing a string of doctors, as I looked a doctor. Nothing but doctors. It was a lot easier back then because mostly the camera was on the other person and you were doing all the exposition. It's been a fun career so far. I'm…

All communities run successfully with qualities of fairness and equality. The well-being of the citizens depends on the support and guidance they receive from those with power and influence in their society. When the people become corrupt and start having intentions that do not contribute back to the community, the society will fall apart and be unable to maintain balance and stability. In William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Arthur Miller’s The Crucible the reader sees examples of injustice inflicted on the victims within the plays through the people with power within the community. The Christians in The Merchant of Venice mock Shylock the Jew countless times while the high court in The Crucible believe citizens are practicing witchcraft without a proper testimony. In both situations, the Christians and the court see themselves doing the right thing and believe they are contributing to the society when in reality, they break apart the community by persecuting those that are different. The victims in William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Arthur Miller’s The Crucible suffer from injustice as power being placed in the wrong hands leads to the formation of biased decision, the limited free will of citizens and severe punishments.…
