However, in the past few years texting has become commonplace for any type of long distance communication because of it being quick and reliable. As of June, of 2014, 561 billion text messages have been sent globally, and by the end of 2011, people in the United States have sent upwards of 18.7 billion texts. (How Many Texts do People Send Every day?, Kenneth Burke) This number is drastically rising while conversing face to face is becoming more scarce by the day. This may decrease significantly overtime because of technology; more and more messaging applications have been invented to allow ease of access for people with or without phones. At the start of The Matrix, Neo is a computer hacker who is trying to solve the mystery of the Matrix, while trying to carry on his usually job. At this point Neo isn’t very social and keeps to himself, he begins to change once he is contacted by Trinity, later on in the movie. “Weed-like cables coil everywhere, duct-taped into thickets that wind up and around the legs of several desks. Tabletops are filled with cannibalized equipment that lay open like an autopsied corpse.
