One character in the film that is different from the character in the novel is Assef. While reading the novel, it said that Assef was tall and blonde, yet in the film he was portrayed with brown hair. I also imagined Assef as being muscular, but this was not the case and he was in fact very skinny in the film.

I pictured Assef as someone who was very tall and muscular because of the power he held over others around him. I imagined him as someone who was threatening and intimidating upon the first glance, and I was surprised when he was not that way.

Even though Assef technically had the wrong hair colour and was very skinny, he still exuded power over everyone around him.
