2.1: The Account of Creation Scripture 1:
“Genesis 1 verse 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was formless, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” (NLT, 2013)
The first words in the bible state that the Lord not only created the heaven and the earth but His Spirit hovered over the waters of the earth. “Genesis 1 verse 26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground. 27 So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God he created them male and female he created them.” (NLT, 2013)
In verse 26 the bible says “then God said,” this indicates that God is speaking and we know God is not a God to lie so when God says it you can know that it’s the truth and well a gospel fact. God then proceeds to say “let us make human beings in our image” from this there are two points the Lord is making; firstly the word us is used meaning that there is more than one, and looking at verse 2 we now know that the Lord has a Spirit and in John 1 that Christ was also involved in the
