For most people there is a specific type of music. Most people have their own music that speaks to them in different ways. There are several different types of music that I like, but my two favorites are Country and Hip- Hop. I can relate to country music because of the songs about life. Hip- Hop always gets me pumped for the gym. One of my most types of music is Hip –Hop music. The catchy lyrics always keep me on my toes dancing. One of my favorite artist is Iggy Azalea and her song “Fancy’’. Hip- Hop music is also my number one inspiration in the gym, its upbeat music motivates me. The intense lyrics makes me want to push myself to do better, especially on the treadmill. ‘’Work’’ by Rihanna makes me want to work out harder and faster. …show more content…
I have always listened to Country music since childhood. Country music always has a great lyrics and tells a story. I can always relate to a song. If I’m having a good day or bad day there’s always a song that fits my mood. When I’m in a good mood I like to listen to Thomas Rhett, he’s fairly new but he’s my favorite. When I’m riding down the road I like to listen to a new artist Maren Morris. Maren has a new song called ‘80’s Mercedes and it’s just a happy upbeat song. When I’m in a bad mood I like to listen to Brantley Gilbert and some of the louder music with more hardcore sound. For example, “Take it outside”. When I’m mad I also do better in my horse shows and place

The music that I associate with childhood is salsa music, because my father was in a few salsa bands while I was growing up. Other music that I associated with my childhood was house music, break dancing music, Pop and dance music. My music choices just remind me of specific memories in my childhood. When I listened to salsa music this would be times when my father would pick me up for the weekend and he would have the music blaring in the car. He would also take me to his band practices or performances. I always felt good to watch my dad play percussion. This is what made me love salsa music. I relate break dancing music to memories with two of my uncles. They were professional break dancers and were even extras in a break dancing movie called “Breakin’”. My uncles would practice their moves in a Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot on cardboard boxes. My uncles would teach my brother and I some moves. I had so much fun with them. Pop music brings me back to a memory with my Abuela (Grandmother). She used to love listening to the song “Rhythm of the Night” by El DeBarge. We would sing and dance in her living room almost everyday. I correlate dance music to Diana Ross. She was my favorite singer. Kids were mean to me when I was younger and teased me about my hair. One day I saw her performing on T.V. and I said “Hey, my hair is like hers!” I was so proud that I would pretend I was her and performed her songs for my Titi (Aunt). These choices reflect great memories for me in my childhood experiences.…

I listen to music every day of my life. From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. My current mood determines what type of music I listen to. For example, in the morning, I like to start my day off with something slow and calm. This usually jazz music with its soft and mellow tones. Then later in the day, I prefer to listen to rap music. It really helps me get excited. This helps me when I am in the gym, especially the sound of the loud bass and tones. I tend to calm down after a long day of activities. I sooth my mood with slow, mellow, and calm music. This really helps my body and mind relax after a long day of work. In conclusion, Jazz, Rap, and R&B are very powerful different types of music, each having its own different style and background.…

Music is one of the greatest and most influential devices that we as humans deal with on a day to day basis. It plays such an important role in our lives and helps build character without us ever thinking twice about it. In today's society there are so many types and genres of music that you can find a song for any type of mood that you're in. Music has the power to bring thousands of people from opposite walks of life together. When I stop and think about the songs that bring up the best memories it creates a wide spectrum of genres. Ranging from Garth Brooks the "Thunder Rolls" to classical Ave Maria, to Bone Thugz N Harmony and Sweetish Rock band by the name of Volbeat. The list of songs to come not only have personal stories behind each and every one of them, but they also tell a timeline from my earliest memories as a child growing up with three older brothers, to the highs and lows of being a teenager in high school, and to spending a year in Afghanistan.…

It was 1977, and the Summer of Sam was in full swing in New York. But in the neighborhoods and housing projects of the “boogie down” Bronx New York, a new art form was developing called Hip Hop. This new art form would change America and transcend a generation forever with its influences on fashion, music, and lifestyle. Hip Hop is an urban lifestyle that consists of different subgenres of music such as rap, “old school” rap and “gangsta” rap. In my paragraph, I’m going to do a comparison on hip hop and rap. On the surface, they may seem the same, but their just as different as they are alike. In the hip hop subculture, two of…

Ahh….you close your eyes and let Alabama take you back. But then Jack Ingram comes on with “Lips of an Angel” and jolts you out of your reverie. You listen to the beat of the drums and screech of the steel guitar. You think to yourself that it sounds more like rock than country, and perhaps you’re right. It is true that modern country music has adopted many characteristics of other music varieties. But while some contemporary music has branched out into other genres, a good deal of it has kept all the twang and texture of what some people consider to be real country. The country music of today has not abandoned the authenticity of the country music of yesteryear; rather it has expanded the entire genre allowing for greater variation and more popularity.…

Speaking from my experiences, I can tell you that I appreciate many genres of music. For example, I adore rock music; rock is my favorite music because of its complex rhythm, chromatic elements, and tonal nuances. Since most of country music has evolved into a rock music hybrid, I also take pleasure in listening to it. The blues are intoxicating to me as I let go of any problems that I may have. I find listening to the tonic triad of jazz to be soothing; no other music can mimic jazz’s harmonic implications. Classical music is more emotionally oriented than sound oriented for me, I experience joy, excitement, passion, vigor, etc., when I listen to different classical pieces. When I want to listen mindlessly to music, I select pop music,…
