Facts from the film that relate to the play is that at the end of the play and movie some of the characters in the end had the same fate. Shakespeare would agree with the modernization because it would it would be related to this play but in modern time play than his own time.
If I was creating a rating system, I would rate the movie 5 out of 5 because I really liked the film so much it really describes the Othello play in a way people today would understand. Like people today if they watched or read Othello they really wouldn’t really understand the way they talk because English back when was different. But the movie O was in 2001 so the English was better understandable than the play. …show more content…
The plot of O is during the during a high school basketball game, Odin James scores the basket that wins the game for his team.
Later at an awards ceremony, the coach, Duke Goulding presents the MVP award to Odin for his efforts, an award he shares with his teammate Michael. In giving Odin the award, Duke passes over his son Hugo, Odin's teammate and best friend. At a party celebrating the victory, Hugo plans with school outcast Roger goes to go to the school's dean, tells him that Odin raped his daughter, Desi. Whom Odin has been dating. Hugo promises Roger that Desi will be his after Odin is out of the way, but Roger is only a pawn in Hugo's ultimate plan to destroy
Odin.
My final review on the film O was great. It was it kind of unappropriated in some scenes between Odin and Desi but I’m mature enough to understand wants going on. Also the actor that was playing Odin was great he showed how Othello was angry and jealous in the play when Desdemona and Cassio were accused of doing stuff behind Othello. But in the end Odin does kill Desi because Hugo was making stories about her and mike. But he does find out Hugo was lying about everything and was trying to mess with his head.
