Comparison Of Rape, Incest, And Abortion
Many people state that it is a women’s body and they can do as they please with it. Women and girls who are more likely to get abortions are the ones who are a victim of rape. Women and girls decide to abort because they do not want to have the child and be reminded every day of the significant date they got raped. For instance, in the article “Rape, Incest, and Abortion: Searching Beyond the Myths” Reardon (1994) claims that “how can someone deny abortion to a girl who is a victim of violent rape.” This shows that when a girl is raped it is okay for them to abort if they cannot care for the child she is pregnant with when she was raped. Women should understand that the child they are pregnant with do not have the fault for what the rapist

Women must have complete control over their own bodies’ right? I mean they must if many of our leaders think so correct? No, the answer is no. I believe it is misplaced knowledge and stereotypes like these that perpetuate the stigma that some women are; “just asking for it”. 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. 17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape. 9 out of every 10 rape victims were female in 2003. In 2004-2005, 64,080 women were raped. According to medical reports, the incidence of pregnancy for one-time unprotected sexual intercourse is 5%. By applying the pregnancy rate to 64,080 women, it is estimated that there were about 3,204 pregnancies as a result of rape during that period. (Planned…

Why should the government or the law determine whether a woman can and cannot have a baby? I believe that having a woman who was raped keep her baby is cruel, especially if she does not want a terrible event in her life to not only follow her around for the rest of her life, but the fact that she will never forget that terrifying event. It does not make sense for pro-life supporters to state that the soon-to-be fetus is a viable being. The soon-to-be-born child is not a child during the first trimester meaning; it is not a human when it has to depend on the mother to be alive. It is more likely for a woman to be healthy after her abortion than it is when she develops health risks. Also, how is adoption any different from abortion? The end result is the same; the mother still gives up having a child. The most important thing to state here is that everyone has certain rights, so why shouldn’t a woman have the right to do what she wants with her body if it is not harming anybody and if the “baby” has not even formed…

I learned that one excuse people use to justify is rape. Well I looked the statistics up and two to five percent of rape victims end up pregnant, and that is if they go and report the crime so a doctor can clean them out with a rape kit. And if this is the situation then they can simply give the baby to someone who does want kids like my aunt and many other women who would and will love the baby. When I read in high detail this next part I could not stop crying, because of the horror of it all and the evil that a person must be, to do this. Pro-choice never explains to anyone about the “fetus” moving around trying to get away from the instruments doctors’ use when they perform an abortion. The doctors that do this for a living and know the practice like the back of their hand never tell women about the baby pushing away from the probes they use while murdering them or the way the baby fights with all the strength he has until his death. This is how bad our society has gotten, because the mother’s womb is supposed to be the safest place for a child. Well even in there some babies are faced with the fear of their innocent…

A group of feminists one day decided to get together and create a band to speak out against the injustice toward women, kids, blacks and American Indians. These women saw a world filled violence and cruelty. But and here is the big but “Abortion” one of these women referred to it as an atrocity forced upon women by a male dominated society. They also saw a very real connection between denying personhood and basic human rights to women and others and denying these same rights to unborn children. To accept abortion, they felt would be to continue the tragic and unjust cycle of violence. So I wonder if a women was or has been raped and she gets pregnant should she keep the baby, but why would she do that, yes I agree that a child is a blessing when it is wanted but how about when he is not, how about when a teenager gets pregnant shall she stop all of her dreams to become a mommy.…

What is to happen to them? Abortions are a personal decision for the woman and for her body. Abortions can be done because the woman may not be in a time of their life where they are ready for children (financially, emotionally, relationship/ age-wise). People often say "USE PROTECTION!" and then "IT'S YOUR FAULT", but how do you know? Contraceptives are not always 100% effective, even when combining more than one. Sex shouldn't be something people use as a fear tactic. Sex shouldn't be taught as a punishment. Additionally, the growing fetus may be physically harming the woman or girl or destructive to itself. And to add to the original point, 14,000 abortions have been a result of rape or incest. If you were to place yourself in that womans shoes, how much would you hate yourself to be forced to carry your assaulters…

Only in extenuating circumstances like a rape victim or a fetus diagnosed with trisomy 13 should abortion even be an option. There are some many alternatives, and these alternatives are usually better for you, the baby, and even other people. Adoption is a process when an adult takes legal control of a child who is not biologically his or her own to become the child's parent. Doing this, the new parents will take rights and responsibilities from the biological parents. Adopting a child can be an absolute great experience and upon starting on the experience there are several steps that are processed before moving forward. Acquiring a good understanding of the process helps the experience more pleasant for the adoptive parent and child. Adoption can also offer the fetus/infant an opportunity to be born, resulting potentially in a good, quality life, and existence. Agencies and processes are in place to assist with this, either privately, or publically. The electoral college has created a political divide in America. In this day and age the last thing America needs is a division among it’s people. With pressing issues like terrorism, immigration and equality, America’s people need to be united but the issue of the electoral college is one of the things preventing that. Today I will be focusing on the electoral college. One of the many problems with the electoral college is the lack of laws supporting the popular candidate which means the college can choose the less popular candidate and by choosing the less popular candidate America is left with angry and violent citizens. Another problem with the electoral college is that the candidates don’t campaign in every state: they only campaign…

Although less than one percent of abortions happen due to rape or incest, forty percent of unintended pregnancies end in abortion, but twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortions. Abortions happen for many different reasons such as inadequate finances, they are not ready for responsibility, their life may change too much, they might have problems with relationships, or they may be too young or immature, so these really need to be taken into consideration when hearing that a woman had an abortion. With that in mind, people do not understand why a woman has an abortion, but they should definitely find out the reason and understand where she is coming from. Even though some mothers have given an explanation as to why they have had the abortion, most people could say that the child never had a chance to live their life and people get scared by the process of abortion. “Your cervix (womb entrance) will be dilated (widened) to make accessing your womb easier. A tablet may be placed inside your vagina a few hours before the abortion to soften your cervix and make it easier to open. Sometimes, an alternative ‘preparing’ tablet is given by mouth. A small, plastic suction tube connected to a pump will then be inserted into your womb and used to remove the fetus,” The sound of this procedure does…

The choice between adoption and abortion changes millions of lives every day. Some advocates of abortion feel if the mother of the child thinks that she will not be a good parent or thinks she will harm the child, that she has the right to abort the child. Abortion is a life changing decision and has the reputation of being an easy way out of an unwanted pregnancy. Adoption, on the other hand, is one way for a woman who is not prepared to be a parent to provide her child the best life possible without being involved in the child’s life. According to national estimates, one million children in the United States live with adoptive parents and from 2% to 4% of American families include an adopted child (Stolley). Those who truly care about children and ultimately want the best for them should consider these life-changing decisions and seriously weigh both the positives and the negatives. It is extremely important to ask which choice is best for an unborn child: adoption or abortion. It is important to compare and contrast these options before a life altering decision is made. However, this is not a choice to be taken lightly. One of the most controversial debates involving pregnancy is a woman’s right to terminate an unborn child or place that child for adoption with another family.…
