Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Introduction
Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme Donuts both have Facebook pages to communicate with their customers and employees. In this paper, both companies will be discussed and the similarities and differences of the two companies and how they communicate with their audience through their Facebook Pages. Building meaningful relationships with customers and employees online requires good interpersonal communication, particularly listening. Social media is now being used by businesses to build relationships. Listening is learning from what your customers are saying. It is tapping into that conversation. It is tapping into that conversation. They’re talking about your company, and if you can listen, the information flows back in the other direction. Smart companies listen to customers by engaging them online. Listening online isn’t just about having a presence- it’s about engaging customers. When customers are listened to online, they are more likely to contribute to social media sites, providing valuable feedback to companies. Smart companies find ways to engage employees online as well as in face-to-face communication. Considered “internal customers,” employees also have valuable feedback that companies should hear (Amy Newman; Scot Ober. Business Communication, pages 79-81).
Dunkin’ Donuts Dunkin’ Donuts is an American global doughnut company and coffeehouse chain based in Canton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts. Since its founding, the company has grown to become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world, with 15,000 restaurants in 37 different countries, the chain has grown to include over 1,000 items on their menu, including doughnuts, bagels, other baked good, and a wide variety of hot and iced beverages. The logo is two Ds side by side in orange and hot pink, placed on a coffee cup next to the words “Dunkin’ Donuts written in orange
