Apartment Living vs Single House Living

Lets discuss today the difference of renting a house or an apartment. This is a topic that just comeup in my family recently as we were wanting to move. Our last home was a 3 bedroom and 2 1/2 bathroom, with a bonus room down stairs. This house also had a fenced in yard. Now coming from that you say why move, well my parents has their reason and I agreed with them. Now we begin the heated discussion of apartment living vs the single house. We had not lived in an apartment sinced we lived at Fort Lewis, WA. So the pros and cons have begun. The first pro first is that with apartment living most of the time water is furnished. Second is trash is taken care of the complex owner most of the time is by a dumpster located some where on the property. The third is most of the time there is a pool with a club house for parties. Not all complex have thes but really nice complex like the one we lived in Washington had swimming pool, work out room and "club house" to have social gatherings. The con the first con of living in an apartment is that parking is limited. Most of the time you are only allowed one parking place and then if you a second car it goes in the overparking where visitors have to park. Second is there is no real priveacy as you have neighbors rather close. Third not all complex have pools but really nice ones do so. Also most complex do not allow animals of any kind for the reason of having really close neighbors. Not only the noise but what if you neighbor has sever allergies. Now with that being sad lets talk about the pros and cons of a swingle dwelling home. The pros of living in a single dwelling is really simple. You have privacy number one complaint in apartment complex living is you don't have privacy. And parking is not an issue since it is a private dwelling. As far as a pool it would your own private pool no need to share and your house you schedule your own gatherings. Now the down side of being in a single dwelling home. Now the cons of living in single dwelling home. You have to pay for all your ultilites as with some of the apartment complex you don't have to. Second con is you have to pay or take care of your trash. Most cities will do it for a small fee. Third you can have a cat, dog or even a bird because you are not in the close apartment complex. Now just weigh your options. There is pros and cons to everything in life. Just have to go with what you want and check and see what offers the most. Check off what you can live with and then what you must live with.
