In my life each day, I always ask myself what I would have done if I did not have anyone to encourage me through the hard times in life. As I faced the biggest struggle in my life, I couldn’t have done it without my best friend. After being told that in the next month of my life I was going to undergo heart surgery, my mom encouraged me that it would all be okay. Heart surgery is a huge obstacle to take on in life, but nothing is better than having your best friend sitting next to you encouraging you through it all. There was a part of me that was riding a roller coaster and another part of me that was saying this is simple and with my family and friends I can get through this easily. It is necessary here to define the meaning of friendship, explain one of life’s toughest obstacles, and overall, explore the world of encouragement when needed most. Friendship could be defined in many different ways. If I had to choose the best way to define it, I would choose the relationship my mom and I have. She is the type of mom that is not just a mom, She is someone I can talk to and explain things that I never imagined I could talk to my mom about. She keeps my secrets secure. Also, she leads me to success in everything. She teaches me right from wrong and made me the girl I am today. I consider myself very lucky, Not many girls have someone to turn to as I do. Someone who I can turn too any second of the day, Someone that puts a smile on my face no matter how sad I am, That someone would be my mom. Each day I thank god for giving me the most encouraging best friend possible.
