Maninder: A very good afternoon to all teachers, students and members of our audience today. It gives me great pleasure in introducing to you today, Prof. Fraser Stoddart from the Depart of Chemistry at the world-renowned Northwestern University, in Illinois, USA.
Ananya: Professor Stoddart, who was born in Scotland, is known for his pursuing Chemistry beyond the molecule. When combined with his interest in templation, it has led to template directed synthesis, based on molecular recognition and self-assembly processes of a wide range of mechanically interlocked molecules and bistable variants of which some have found their way into molecular electronic devices and drug delivery systems.
Maninder: Sir Fraser has mentored more than 400 graduate and postdoctoral students, written over 1000 publications and has given over 1000 Lectures, alongside his the decades he has spent as a professor, scholar and researcher in Chemistry.
Ananya: Not only has Sir Fraser helped a plethora of students successfully in their scholarly pursuits in academia, publishing, industry, commerce and government but also has a long list of other
