Compost Persuasive Essay
I feel like we should have recycling and composting initiatives. That way people can waste less and we can breathe a little easier. My reasoning for supporting this act are listed and detailed below. A propsal began as discussing extending the life of the county lanfill, which will close in about 10 years if we do nothing. By nothing I mean not recycle or cor compost. They banned the dumping of construction waste, such as wood. Why? Because it Can effectively recycled. Then they started banning the dumping of yard waste and opened up a progam. The three bins; A green one for compost, a blue one for recyclabe papers and plastics, and a black one for landfill, are a great idea because it will help us cut down on landfill and

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

    a. Since their creation in the 1990’s, problem-solving courts have become of much interest to the legal community. Not only are these courts revolutionary in their way of processing cases, but also they are proving to have great success rates. One of the most important aspects of the problem-solving courts is how much more involved a judge is with each case. In traditional courts, a judge will most likely read off the names of the people in the docket, and simply sentence an individual according to what the DA has already negotiated. During a problem-solving court, the judge has the opportunity to get to know each defendant on a more personal level, and be able to help the defendant succeed. While results have shown that the more involved judges are, the more likely it is for a program to succeed, there is much criticism regarding the judge’s attachment to each case.…

There are multiple benefits that come from this application. It reduces our climate impact, the U.S. EPA has estimated that about 42% of all the greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the production and use of goods, including food, products and packaging. Reducing, reusing and recycling will conserve that energy and can drastically reduce our carbon emissions. It also conserves resources and minimizes pollution. Extracting raw materials from natural spaces requires huge amounts of energy, and causes pollution, whether it is logging a forest, mining for minerals or drilling for oil in the bay. Processing these materials requires more energy, and causes more pollution. Once they’re used, the goods are simply dumped in a landfill or destroyed in an incinerator. Which only makes the matters worse because incinerators let out toxic fumes that only go straight into the atmosphere, and will only continue to add to the ever-growing amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Dumping everything in a landfill sounds like wonderful idea, but that requires acres of land that must be cleared out for said trash. All of the habitats, and trees will be replaced with a landfill that will only collect garbage instead of life. Juxtapose to the zero waste approach which conserves natural resources and reduces the pollution from extraction, disposal, and manufacturing…

Being in high-school should definitely be the best four years of your life. Most people forget that these years is what usually makes up for the rest of your life. For example some people choose to study hard, pass their classes, and then have fun with the time they got left over. Others choose to use up all their time for fun and never pass classes or dedicate any type of time towards their education and usually get held back a couple of years like I did. If you really want to make high-school the best years of your life then I would suggest choosing option A so that you enjoy all the festivities and parties with friends without having to make-up for lost time.…

In todays world it is common knowledge of the issues with recycling and pollution. However, there is a way to help slow down the process of over-running our earth. A new initiative is being spoken about, three trash cans for each method of recycling:compost, paper and plastic, and landfill. Other ways include recycling centers, projects for turning your no longer useable items into recycled treasures. I firmly believe in adopting and putting these into practice in our United States with only minor changes. We only have one earth so we have to take care of it.…

The Vietnam War was a civil conflict between communist North and capitalist South. The United States has always been a capitalist country and they feared other countries would become communist. President Eisenhower brought up the Domino theory that if Vietnam were to fall to communism then Laos, Cambodia, and other Asian countries would fall one after the other. At the time, Vietnamese government and the Viet Cong were fighting to reunify Vietnam and in doing so, the U.S. feared a communist takeover in South Vietnam. The French were already at war because they wanted to maintain colonial power but they were the least bit concerned with communism, and backed off in 1954 since they didn't want to risk losing any more…

Many people argue that internal factors within the Roman Empire caused it to fall were many social, economical, and political problems. One political problem was that the emperors and leaders became corrupt with power and wealth and then most soldiers in the army fended for themselves and didn't work together. The troops soon became pillagers targeting other citizens like them. “The troops became the enemy within; pillage and slaughter of fellow citizens was indiscriminate”(Santosuosso). The whole government and army was filled with leaders who wanted all of the money and power they could get their hands on. “Stopping one threat was not enough, for another would emerge; if that new threat was pushed back, another popped up elsewhere”(Santosuosso). The invasions of the Germanic and the Huns weakened the Roman army since they weren't very strong to begin with. The Germanic Tribes kept on fighting no matter how many times they were undaunted by defeats and hoping to lay hands on the rich spoils of the empire were continuous, but with low resources and a relentless war effort troops lost hope. Once the Roman army could no longer defend its own borders, the Germanic tribes began to invade and Roman provinces fell on after another. After Marius's reform which made it so that anyone with a Roman citizenship could join the army. This made more citizens to join, but they wanted immediate wealth, material goods and improve their condition, they chose to not to be loyal to the republic but to any leader who provided booty for them. Another factor would be the economical problems, the oppressive taxidation system caused farmers to abandon their farms because they couldn't find tenants to cultivate their land and their land was under tax burden, unable to make them a living. “The government tried to meet the demand by tying agricultural workers to their…

The California government chooses to have a vote in California and other states and it passed the vote, now the federal government is trying to shut down dispensaries in the state. Even though California passed the vote in 1996 to allow the use of medical marijuana for medical use, the drug is still illegal under federal law. According to federal law, any amount found on a person is a misdemeanor and holds a fine of $1,000 and up to 1 year in jail, and state law states that 28.5 grams or less only carries a $100 fine.…
