Composting Research Paper
I believe that schools should change their policy and start composting uneaten school lunches. I believe this because it is better to compost uneaten food then throw it away. Another reason is that composting reduces dependence on fossil fuels. Also, composting is good for the land.

On the other hand people say composting takes too much time and it is difficult for schools to manage. I understand how composting can take too much time but when composting helps out our planet go green it will be worth the time it takes. Also people complain that schools can not manage composting. However, it's well worth managing composting because it will save money and help our planet go green.

Composting will also help a schools reputation as wanting to

Composting is when waste is converted into something that is easier to manage, such as fertiliser. It means that waste can be converted into a saleable product and so the process does partly pay for itself. According to the School of Thought editors(2012) American school lunches have gotten so bad that some students have even started to boycott their school lunch by bringing a sack lunch to school instead of buying the lunch provided by the school. Most of the students have done this because of the lack of quality and quantity and feel like the National School Lunch Program has changed their school lunches for the worst. The boycotting of school lunches only started with 20 people and has quickly spread to more than 300 students.…

School lunches are almost always inadequate. More than half the students leave lunch hungry. They give choices of vegetables but when they don't taste good they'll just be trashed. If they eat eight hundred calorie meals and they only eat one fourth they only get two hundred of those calories. That's possibly for a high school student that plays three sports a year that won't be home until after six or seven o'clock.…

As I have stated, the government spends approximately eleven billion dollars on schools across the country solely for the lunch program. Schools get only a portion of that money and can only buy certain amounts of healthy, yet cheap foods, Which is one of the reasons why school food tastes bad. However there are plenty of ways to avoid this problem by saving money and moving the money spent on less necessary concerns, such as new sports equipment. I believe that the school’s money should mostly be spent on food because of how important it is. Some students could be homeless or very poor, eating unbearable school lunches. The best schools could give them is free high quality food. Every other need from schools can be met with fundraisers and community…
