Summary
This report has looking into the use of computers in education. It is such a vast area to research, and because technology is still growing, then it can in no way be comprehensive. I have utilised various resources in order to find a balanced viewpoint of the subject, but given the limits of the module, have tried to cover the main aspects of the subject. It is by no means a complete search for information. However, I do draw one conclusion from this study. Computers are being used in education, to aid education, but will by no means eradicate the needs of a human, personal tutor\lecturer.
Computers can in no way aid the students in the “nurture” type of discipline that is also needed to progress through life, e.g. manners, people skills etc. Tutor’s also give direction and help, where computers cannot assist in this.
Tutors and students alike need to be computer literate in order to utilise the resources available to
