1.1 To c r e a t e s p r e a d s h e e t s using basic f e a t u r e s o f M S E x c e l 2 0 1 0 software.

1.2 To gain a deeper understanding of the selected scenario and its associated functions.
1.3 To explore functions that are not taught in class and incorporate
MS Excel 2010 features that will make the project interesting, convincing and useful.

SYNOPSIS
2.1 This is an
INDIVIDUAL project.
2.2 Choose 1 of the following 5 business scenarios and prepare relevant spreadsheets using MS Excel 2010.
Scenario 1 – Retail Industry
For your internship, you are attached to the head office of a retail chain that operates locally and overseas.
With the increasing number of tourists coming to Singapore, the company would like to expand further by opening new r etail outlets in
Singapore and the region.
You have been tasked to create spreadsheets to review company performance and present the necessary data to your manager.
Scenario 2 – Hotel Industry
For your internship, y ou are attached t o the head office of a regional hotel chain. The tourism industry has been flourishing in recent years and Singapore has experienced tremendous growth in terms of tourist arrivals and hotel room occupancy. The hotel management would like to remain competitive and open more hotels in the region to attract more business and leisure travellers. You have been tasked to create spreadsheets to review company performance and present the necessary data to your manager.
