Research paradigm
The conceptual framework tackles the implementation of the retention policy to all the students under BSA and on how the students deal with the program. The researchers divide the framework into three diagrams; input, process and output. Under input are profiles of the student respondents. In the process are the procedures used by the researcher in order to come up the possible effects and different benefits to the student. The researchers will conduct the evaluation in the form of questionnaire and interview with BSA students. The researchers also indicated the retaining

grade in every year level that the BSA students must meet. Under the output are the possible outcomes of the study that will be conducted. These will show the different answers of the students regarding the retention policy.

Statement of the Problem
This study will identify the effectiveness of the retention policy to selected Second Year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) students of the University of the East (UE), Manila for the first semester of academic year 2011-2012.
Specifically, this paper will seek answers for the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of the selected University of the East-Manila, second year BS Accountancy students in terms of:
1.1 Age,
1.2 Gender, and
1.3 General Weighing Average (GWA)?
2. What is the nature of the University's retention policy among the BSA students as perceived by the respondents?
3. What are the possible negative implications of the University’s retention policy among the BSA students?
4. What are the benefits and its effects of the retention policy among the BSA students as perceived by the
