The experiment indicates some systematic errors with some of the equipment we used. For example, if we used more accurate thermometers the densities of the water and overall temperature of the water would become more accurate to the true temperature of the water, and decrease the percent error of the data. In my experiment, human error was very relevant. A systematic error also occurred in some of the readings because the water was still cooling down as the experiment went on causing the temperature to change which changed the density of the water. The question being addressed in this lab is which ingredient will produce the most bubbles? If baking powder, baking soda, and salt are added to different test tubes of sugar water, then baking soda will have the most effect on the rate of fermentation (create the most bubbles). In this experiment water quality and contamination of groundwater was investigated. First, I observed the effects that many pollutants have on groundwater. I predict that in this experiment the oil and vinegar will create the large amount of contamination in the water, while the laundry detergent will just create an aroma smell to it. Considering the smells and color to these ingredients I think that it will cause the water quality to have a bad smell and cause the water to be very cloudy. Once filtering the contaminated water, the water will be clear and purified. Second, I will experiment water treatment and filtering. I predict that once the contaminated water is treated and filtered that it will leave me with less contamination or none at all.
