SEA 135 Event Planning and Logistics ARTS EXPOSED & SPONSORSHIP TORONTO
Conference Assignment
In some cases the abbreviations AE and ST will be used to represent the respective Conferences. Intro Executive Summary Arts Exposed and Sponsorship Toronto are both conferences that Seneca’s Event Marketing
Students attended. These conferences are both very similiar in ways it was organized and executed but still very different with the idea and concept.
Arts Exposed which was held on October 4th and 5th at Seneca College, Markham Campus was targeted towards arts and culture stakeholders to discuss topics such as market trends and innovative ways to reach customers.
Sponsorship Toronto took place on November 5th and 6th at the Grand Hotel & Suites in
Toronto, trying to get industry leaders under one roof to also discuss market trends and new ways to reach out to customers in a Sponsorship context. Below is our collaborative report according to both Conferences. Comparison of Stakeholders
Volunteers
: Both events used Seneca students to help out, although we were more seasoned for the Sponsorship Conference.
Sponsors
: you will see examples of this in the Marketing Mix under Partnerships, but generally speaking, the Sponsors were definitely activated in the AE in the experiential sense with the conference (i.e. hotel, wine, York Region, Seneca College). This annual event is sponsored by the York Region Partners in Tourism, The Regional Municipality of York, Central Counties
Tourism as well as the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Seneca College and York University
Faculty of Fine Arts. The sponsors at ST are all over the map, from travel to sports to Jody herself and Mark’s magazine. In this case, both organizers have their own media (YorkScene and Mark’s magazine) to exploit the conference.
