Confetti Girl And Tortilla Sun Analysis
Try living with one parent that just wants the best for you but they try too hard In Confetti Girl and Tortilla Sun both girls are living with one parent. They have to do stuff that they really don’t want to. One has to go to New Mexico the other has to do a essay.

In both stories they both have single parents. In Confetti Girl, paragraphs 1-2 are in past tense then they suddenly change to the present when she is just with her dad. This suggests that he is a single parent and that he doesn't understand change. On the other hand, in paragraph 18 of Tortilla Sun,the mom states that Izzy her daughter, has to go to New Mexico for the summer while the mom finishes school. In paragraph 46 she gets upset because of this and she holds a baseball

    Their family always was pleased and in check with the bills for the first few months when they moved to a new house. Two places where they stayed the longest was Phoenix and Blue Mountain.
