The battle between Apple and Samsung that defined a Smartphone generation. Since, the establishment of a brand called “IPhone” which is a high-end cell-phone which was unveiled in 2007. Furthermore, it was the one and only Smartphone in the market. In 2009, Samsung the Apple’s supplier made a shocking device that is similar to Apple’s IPhone called “Samsung Galaxy” which started a war that will never end. (Kurt Eichenwald, 2014). After the betrayal from Samsung to Apple which made it seek redemption. In addition, Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung for stealing their Smartphone idea. Moreover, this conflict has been going on over three years, which cost both companies billions of dollars. Furthermore, it caused confusion towards consumers …show more content…
But, is it the only thing each company is battling on? Well, they are trying to draw a suitable advertising plan to sell each product before it release date. "Good advertising does not just circulate information, it penetrates the public mind with desires and belief". (Leo Burnett). Which means that if Apple and Samsung want to advertise their product, they should not only mention information about their devices. But, they also have to blow everyone's mind and make them wish to have it. Furthermore, each company were advertising their newest inventions in so many different ways. Starting by, making several videos of their devices to introduce them to the customers. However, there were several videos which were introducing the phone but in an exited point of view. Moreover, using TV commercials, celebrities and even public places to promote their devices has helped the device sale’s rate. These two companies were racing each other to let the world choose the device that they will purchase before it been released. The question is which device will win this …show more content…
They will continue to invent more Smartphone devices without any thinking of stopping their future plans. IPhone 6 Plus and Note 4 are both Apple and Samsung newest inventions. They entered in a competition of who has better features, even more they focused on planning a perfect advertising to sell them. Lastly, after releasing them in the market and been purchased by customers they look forward to view each one's comment upon them. Regarding that the Note 4 had some negative comments, yet it still managed to outscore the Iphone 6 plus. In my opinion, I prefer Apple's Smartphone more than Samsung’s Note 4 because, I can see that it is much easier to use and it cannot be attacked by viruses like Samsung's Smartphone devices do. In addition, Apple's phones can last for more than three years, whereas Samsung's might last for two years or less. From my experience, I had both companies Smartphones like the IPhone 4s for Apple's and Galaxy s4 for Samsung. I bought my IPhone on 2011 and I can tell you now that it works perfectly. Whereas, the Samsung I bought it last year 2013, and sometimes it restart itself and even it take time to get in any app. At this time Apple and Samsung is the biggest Smartphone devices companies and no one can challenge them. But, with the development of Chine I think that over years there will be a Chinese Company that will wipe these two firms and invent

The market for smartphones is a very young one, currently in its maturing phase. Direct competitors of Apple, Inc. include Google, Samsung, Hewlett-Packard Company, BlackBerry Limited, and Microsoft (Yahoo Finance, 2015). There are a large number of firms in the smartphone industry, but not too large. Furthermore, each company sells the same quintessential product, but each is differentiated – Apple sells its iPhone with special retina screens, Samsung sells with a larger screen, etc. There are no major barriers to entry to the market, so firms that are not profitable in the smartphone business can easily leave and vice versa (McConnell et al, 2009). All of these facts point to the fact that the market structure is a monopolistic competitive environment.…

Othman Aldhfeeri 2/20/2013 English 091 Jordan Case/Effect Paragraph Apple makes among the best phones in the world. The iPhone is their flagship product and it outpaces sales among everything they offer. Apple is at the forefront of the newest technology. The iPhone uses the state-of-the-art designs, such as touch screens and aluminum casing. The main industrial designer, Jonathan Ives, is famous for his concept of how it should look, function, and feel. Ives is a world renowned designer and his input took the iPhone to a completely unseen place that smart phones had never seen before. Apple’s use of such a great designer demonstrates that they will spare no expense to making a great phone. Additionally, the processing units (dual core, ARM A6) that come in the iPhone are incredibly fast. They are always releasing the fastest phone, while other competitors only release faster units months after the newest iPhone release. This demonstrates that other companies are simply trying desperately hard to keep up with the iPhone. The iPhone is the most widely used and widely recognized phone in the world. Everyone I know uses an iPhone and everywhere I go, I see people carrying one. It’s so hard to believe that only 4 years ago, Blackberry dominated the market. Now if we examine every age group and every ethnicity, almost everyone has the iPhone. Children who have not yet reached high school and the elderly, as well as everyone in between seems to have an iPhone. Even back home in Kuwait, the iPhone is second to none in popularity. Its widespread reputation can be seen in Apple’s sales revenue, as it is the most profitable company in the world at the moment. The phones are reasonably also priced. Comparing the price of this phone to that of the next best competitor, the Samsung Galexy, the prices are almost the same. In fact, among all data-driven phones, the iPhone seems to have the most standard pricing in terms of what comes with a contract. So even on a level playing…

The overall goals of being leaders in the cell phone and tablet markets are directly driven by the sales and marketing of these two items in the real world. There are many factors that play into the consumer making the decision on which brand of cell phone or tablet to purchase. Keep in mind, that most individuals have cell phones these days so the choice of whether to buy one or not is almost non-existent. The choice simply becomes which phone do I buy. While not as many people have tablets as they are seen as more of a luxury, those who do decide to purchase also have to look at the available options and make a decision. One factor that has kept Apple as one of the main choices for these consumers is the fact that their technology and the capabilities of their devices is usually at the top of the food chain. They are not always the most advanced and have the most capabilities, but they are usually somewhere near the top.…

I believe most would agree that although the iPhone was not the first smartphone on the market, in 2007 it definitely impacted the technology and even the business world. Wrapping together every function and feature possible into one package, the iPhone set individuals on a craze to get their hands on the next best thing. I can still recall people doing whatever humanly possible, whether it be winning a contest through the radio or internet, just to say they owned the first iPhone. After that, it was almost as though you were in the VIP section of the technology universe. Today, people immediately assume you own the Apple product, and are somewhat looked down upon like some peasant using anything otherwise. Less than a year later, the “smartphone wars” began as Google introduced the Android; the open source smartphone platform linked with the world’s largest search engine website. As an Android advocate, the debate still arises drawing disputes among fellow friends and colleagues as I teeter-totter between the pros and cons of both devices.…

Often that before the release of a certain famous product, people would predict the feature or characteristic that the product might featured or possess. In our case, smart phones are the ones that we speculate a lot. After the release of the iPhone6, many question has been raised whether the iPhone6 will be better, or not, compared to its rival, Samsung Galaxy S5 which is the latest smart phone from Samsung. Usually, people asked about it because they would like to know the best phone for them. However, even though both phones are two of the best phones in the market, if compared, the iPhone6 is better than Samsung Galaxy S5 in terms of design, fingerprint scanner and user interface.…

Our product the Samsung Galaxy S5 in comparison with the iPhone 6 is positioned evenly with the iPhone in terms of the Boston Consulting Product Matrix. Within the Product Matrix you have various levels of market growth as well as market share in which they are broken down into 4 category’s Stars, Cash Cows, Dogs and Question Marks. Our product will fall into the Cash Cow category being our products earnings are high and stable, the cash flow is high and stable and the strategy is to invest and maintain current level. Now as for our competition we can only assume they are in the same position being they have more sales to date. The actual reasoning behind the placement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the market growth rate is high in which we consume which is used to often further growth. In terms of strategies Samsung has some great strategies being they excel in product development, diversification, divestiture and retrenchment. Our competitor Apple also has great strategies with the exception of product development. Although they find a way to recreate the iPhone every so many months they don’t necessarily aim to please the consumers. Apple has been known to take a current phone and give it a new color and give it an updated operating system that every other tablet or phone will have without purchasing the newer phone and reissue it out as a new phone. Samsung happens to even out in the position charts being Apple has a strong following but Samsung happen to gain new consumers daily like any other company and they continue growing and that it why the brand is very competitive in the growing market.…

In this world, we see losing as a failure, a disappointment. What most fail to understand is the value of losing and the way it can teach us more about ourselves and how we can improve. Losing helps us to understand and evaluate our weaknesses, and learn from them. From this, we can get better and try again. Donald Trump was quoted as saying, “Sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war.”…
