Purpose: Use a short story’s conflict in order to highlight our own experience!
Intro: "Why does she come here at all–who wants her?”
a) This quote is from “Miss Brill” a short story by Katherine Mansfield. A woman at the park is telling her boyfriend that the old lady, Miss Brill, is alone and she always just sits and stares at people. No one ever talks to her and she never talks to anyone else either.
b) The conflict is the idea of loneliness and she is always judged because she sits alone. Moving around a lot when I was younger really left me in a state of loneliness that I only got out of when I went to high school
c) This happened in the summer of 2007 when I moved from California with my mom and brother
