1. The purpose of this self-assessment is to help identify my preferred conflict management style.
2. My score: Yielding (8), Compromising (10), Forcing (13), Problem Solving (12), Avoiding (13).
3. The scores on the five Conflict Handling Scale dimensions range from 4 to 20. Higher score indicates a higher preference for and use of a particular conflict handling style.

Initially I tried to avoid any confrontations with her and when she saw that I would not engage, she began to find other ways to antagonize me. I typically do not like conflict. As someone who is mostly introverted, I try to

1. This purpose of this assessment is to help understand how an organization’s structure influences my personal needs and values.
2. My score: Tall Hierarchy (10), Formalization (11), Centralization (10), Total (Mechanistic Score) = 31
3. According to this assessment of the three organizational structure dimensions my scores for tall hierarchy, formalization, and centralization were all medium. My overall score, the mechanistic score was high. The assessment states that persons with high mechanistic scores prefer few employees per supervisor and a high degree of formalization and centralization.
4. I am not absolutely sure that this assessment is correct. I believe that there are aspects of the mechanistic structure that I do prefer. I like to know that the organization I work for has a structure that allows all employees to have a clear understanding of their job description, an understanding of the level of autonomy, if it applies, and an understanding of protocol regarding who we are to report

Conflict can occur in many situations in the workplace such as, when there is an organisational change or, when people’s personalities clash. When there is a personality conflict between colleagues these issues should be looked at from the other person’s point of view to try and understand them and determine what may cause someone to act this way; you can also look at how others interact with them to gain knowledge and understanding of others, most importantly the conflict should be resolved quickly before it becomes out of control. When two people clash due to issues it is usually easier to handle as the situation can be looked at logically with compromise…

An organisational structure accurately divides, selects groups and coordinates job tasks. Structure contributes to explain and predict organisational behaviour and organisational design. Managers often change organisational structures due to performance and efficiency being low (Robbins et al 2004), they should also ensure consistency in the structure, scale of operations, tasks at hand, need of stakeholders and strategic decision of the organisation, this distinguishes successful organisation from less successful organisations (Wood et al 2006). When changing the structure of the organisation managers should be aware of the six elements of structure: work specialisation is how tasks are subdivided into separate jobs; for example Ford workers had an assigned specific repetitive job such as installing the right front door of the car. This helped Ford to produce a car every ten seconds. Departmentalisation, groups jobs together in an organisation; such as marketing, human resources and accounting for instance Football organisations, Sydney Swans. Chain of command specifies who reports to whom (supervisor or store manager) and how (electronically or by speech). Span of control determines the amount of staff a manager can direct however it also identifies the amount of levels and managers the organisation will need. Centralisation and decentralisation aid in the decision…

The conflict styles included in the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode instruments are competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating. A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), which is the overall difference between two or more groups, was used to determine if personality and family conflict resolution had an influence on the preferred conflict handling styles. First, the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Modes styles were used as the dependent variables, and the personalities measured by BFI as the independent variable. Then, the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode styles were the dependent variable and the FCRS was the independent variable…
