As teens grow up and discover themselves, having these high standards for them to meet is overwhelming. Conformity to our society is not beneficial because humans should not have to live their lives based on rules to try to “fit in”. Allowing society to have rules is giving it power and control over us when in reality we all together are society and have an equal vote on what and what should not happen. It’s tough growing up in a society where so much is expected out of you when there’s bigger problems to worry about than worrying if you fit in or not. Giving society control and power over us is giving into its plan and rules and doing exactly what they wanted us to do. Giving into the conformity and allowing something weaker than us the opportunity to overpower is absurd. What good will these rules bring to us? Individuals that are different must take a stand for themselves and be proud of who they are to be able to defeat the society and grow and spread it around so that different people know they’re not alone and it’s okay to stand
