Congenital Abnormalities (Congenital Disorders) is a disorder in the structure, function or body metabolism that is found in the baby when she was born.

The disorder is usually a loss of metabolic enzymes or incomplete formation of the enzyme. This disorder can be dangerous and even fatal, but usually does not cause significant disruption in children.
Examples of metabolic disorders is Tay-Sachs disease (a fatal disease of the central nervous system) and phenylketonuria.
