I think this is an awesome topic to write on. I work in the NICU and come across this problem all the time with families refusing newborn medication (Vitamin K and Erythromycin. I’m not sure of your stance on the situation, but I feel like families are not properly educated on the importance of some vaccinations , something as serious as Vitamin K. In a study done by BMP public health they found that one of the reasons parents refuse to vaccinate it due to lack of education (Harmsen, I 2013). As health care professional that is one of our duties to educate right?
