To the Left: The Position Vs. Time graph

Red: Run #1
Blue: Run #2
Green: Run #3

Purpose: To find what the slope of a position vs. time graph represents.

Q.1) The Slope of the second run is greater than the slope of the first run. The first piece of evidence is in the data calculations themselves. In run number 1 the calculated slope 15 m/s which is considerably less than the slope of the second run which was at a swift 0.27 m/s. Also as you can clearly see on the graph the blue line which is run two is clearly surpassing the red line which is run 1 in the amount of distance covered per second. This is due the human entity gently pushing the cart with more power to give it more velocity in the 2nd run opposed to the first run where the push was much more gentil. Finally since slope= avg. velocity the speed and the slope would be greater in the case of run 2.

This is shown by comparing the graphs of run 1 with the graph of run 3. In the graph of run 1 you can clearly see the object over time moving away from it’s origin at a steady rate of change. On the other hand in run 3 the object is moving towards the origin of the waypoint. So, it starts at 0.72 m away and ends at about .16 m away. In run 1 it starts at about 2.63 m and ends at around 0.937
